Douglas Fir

A valuable commercial timber widely used for construction and building purposes.  One of the hardest softwoods available, this timber is very stiff and strong. Heartwood is light pink in colour and sapwood pale cream; it will weather to silver grey in time. Finishes well and readily accepts stains. Considered to be moderately durable, 10-15 years untreated when installed correctly. Can be used for exterior construction and cladding.
